Artist Talk | What do we need to thrive?

Stay at Home 12 November 2020
7:00 pm

Join us for artist talk with artist-curator Yas Lime and artist Sabba Khan chaired by artist-curator Raju Rage on Thursday 12th November 2020, from 7pm – 8.30pm via Zoom. Tickets are free but need to be booked here.

This live artist talk will focus on community spaces and arts spaces that are community based in the Birmingham context and how they link to creativity and resistance. The panel will question how spaces allow creative work to flourish using the example of the Recipes for Resistance project. The artists will share their experiences of producing work under different conditions and think through what kind of spaces we need for these projects to come into existence, thinking beyond resistance as just surviving and towards thriving.

Sabba Khan’s work looks at family and society systems and structures. It also relates to the Covid-19 pandemic, wellbeing and how South Asians function in general. How has the pandemic changed our ways of being and producing?

This event is funded by Amal (a Saïd Foundation Programme)
