Stryx JQ Access Information
Ort Gallery currently do not have their own space so we are using other venues to host our events and exhibitions. This information lines out the access to Stryx JQ so you can make a decision whether visiting is possible for you. For any questions please contact us here
Here is a walkthrough video
Cafe
The cafe is located at the front of the building with access from Vyse Street.
There are steps at the front and back entrance to the cafe. There is no handle bar at the front entrance.
The back door leading to the backyard is narrower than a standard door. A handrail was added onto the back to enable safe use of stairs.
There is good lighting in all areas and steps and changes in level are highlighted.
Gallery
The gallery is located in the backyard behind the cafe.
There is step-free access from the street to the gallery via the side entrance (to the right of the cafe when looking at the building from Vyse Street). However, the alleyway is narrow (90 cm wide) and the floor is uneven. The lighting in the alleyway is not bright.
Access to the gallery from the backyard has a small step but there is a short curb ramp to make it step free.
The gallery is a small space so it may feel crowded during events. There is a lot of outdoor space in the backyard as well as two rooms in the cafe to serve as breakout space.
The gallery is lit by natural light and fluorescent lights on darker days.
